Next picture post of my Japan 2008 trip!

Ummm, I'll be honest. I am not going to do a write up on the Kanjani8 concert in Fukui until after the wedding on Saturday. a;lskfj;laskf need sleep! But I will write one! I promised someone I would on all three but for now, you get pictures! (Sorry for the HUGE picspam post. It'll take a few moments to load.)

( Day 3 - Fukui to Kyoto )

Day 4 was spent entirely in Kyoto going to various temples. mousaPi and Shabz graciously allowed me to tailor the day of sightseeing to the temples I wanted to see. So I wanted to show them Kiyomizudera in the early light because it is beautiful in the calm dawn. Then Heian Jingu, recommended to me by sandpanther. I wanted to try and hit up Yasaka Jinja if we had time before meeting up with Ilana, alissa & co and going off to see Kinkakuji and Ryoanji but we weren't able to.

Still, I think Day 4 was one of my favorite days of all on this trip. Despite everyone calling me Leader. Leader janai!

After all the temples, we were tired and hungry. So we headed back to Kyoto Station and decided to eat at one of the restaurants in Porta, the underground mall connected to Kyoto Station. We ended up at a okonomiyake place where we all tried okonomiyake for the first time along with takoyaki. SO GOOD. I didn't take any pictures since, in my hunger, I forgot and just enjoyed the meal. :D

We then shopped for a bit in Porta before parting ways, tired and full of delicious food.


Gah, that took longer than I thought! Sleep time. More pictures to come!

Ugh, it's been super busy!!! But I've checked into my hotel (which is only 20 minutes from home), met up with a fellow Fanime staffer, relaxed a bit with a martini and a jazz band in between a few hours of work, and then I came home to finish packing/shower/sleep. :D

Tomorrow, kenaressa will be here! I pick her up from the airport after work!

Speaking of work, must scamper to bed!

Now, just to make this post completely relevant, I AM DOING AN UCHI PIC SPAM POST. FEEL FREE TO ADD/FLAIL/TELL ME I AM CRAZY/LOVE ME A LOT. But really, after 2 1/2 years of Uchi being non-existent in the JPOP IDOL WORLD, I AM ECSTATIC THAT HE IS BACK. Hopefully, this solo career of his will lead to him REJOINING Kanjani8. Because 8->1.

Okay. So I am staring at the end of the tunnel and I see the light on this fic. BUT I NEED INSPIRATION TO GET OVER TO THE END. Thus, I am declaring today as "SEXY JIN SUNDAY."

So I spent a lot of time waiting to be called in for inventory on Saturday ( stupid work. D: ) and I ended up reading Shige's Myojo essays that were translated. I really do like the way he writes and his latest essay talks about "Beauty" and how he went to Kyoto to visit some beautiful temples, two of which I visited on my recent trip to Japan! So with that in mind, this and the next few posts will be a huge picspam. I took a LOT of pictures!

Shige (who is a member of NewS) started his tour with Kiyomizudera. I haven't finished uploading the pictures of that yet but I do have pictures of Ginkakuji (aka The Temple of the Silver Pavilion), his second stop. There are a lot of pictures, so if you're on dial-up, I'm sorry! I love the scenery way too much!

FANIME 2007 IS OVER.

WHOOOOOO!!!!

Overall, it was certainly a different experience from my first time working Fanime last year. Less of me going "eh? what? huh?" and the "O________O" subaru! eyes and more of the "Oh! I know that!" and "^_______________^" fuji! eyes. I certainly got less sleep this year than last year but that's because I went into Fanime this year considerably more sleep-dep'd and stressed than last year.

There were times where I wanted to strangle people *coughs*crosstraffickingpeople*coughs and others I just wanted to snuggle.

I totally missed on MusicFest guests because I was really too tired to remember where Crack6 and Mechanical Panda were performing. I ended up at the Black and White ball in my pretty black and white frock and danced. Taught the Chair how to Tango. *giggles* There wasn't much the Totoros did this year, unlike last year where they got downright experimental.

I got to meet some of the Guests of Honors and had a lot of fun just catching up with people and seeing how much fun they were having at Fanime this year.

Of course there were some minor, minor gripes but whatever! A good time was had by all and that's the most important part, right?

So last night, I crashed so hard. I got a little over 12 hours of sleep. I am feeling much better and in a better frame of mind to tackle all the problems that have been piling up at work. Apologies to those who are waiting for me to finish up some of my special projects! I promise they'll be out to you sooooooooon!

And I am going back to re-read why my HP flist is exploding and am waiting to see how fast it's going to hit my JPop part. Because if LJ/6A is going after one of the biggest fandoms on LJ, who knows how soon it's going to come after the smaller ones.
