Picture Friday

So I loaded another folder full of pictures. This time, these are taken in front of Sensoji in Asakusa, Tokyo on April 14. I really enjoyed this temple but it was CROWDED. Full of tourists, visitors, worshippers, and a high school band competition (which I failed to get pictures of. Ooops.)

shinigamitabris and I took a picture in front of this after we realized that this was where w-inds. did the photoshoot for their 2006 Fan Club Event pamphlet. Well, it was more like one of those thick cardbook books that little kids read and oh so cool. *____* We flailed a lot and even did the w-inds. sign for the picture.

There were a LOT of people. And some really hot guys wandering around in packs (but not the one in the picture. D: ). Tabs and I were sort of flowing in the crowd and they kept passing us by.
I totally recommend going to this temple in the spring if you want some yummy candy. Both for your tummy and your eyes.

This part of the temple is really pretty to me. I really like the five tiers (and it seems to be more common in Japan) but something about it is just draws me to it.

The entrance to Sensoji. It was CROWDED. Plus, there was a huge vat of sand with incense sticks in front of it. You're supposed to stick your lit incense sticks into it and then waft the smoke towards you to help purify you and get you into this state of mind for worship. The vat ended up firing up with so many lit sticks and it was literally on fire! I think
yzo took several pictures of it. But I thought it was cool and funny.
Plus, there were adorable teens holding up signs to be an English speaking tour guide to help them practice their English. Totally cute. I wish I saw them sooner. :D

Asakusaji is a small shrine on the right of Sensoji and is very peaceful given its proximity to the huge Sensoji. I liked it. I remember getting shaved ice on the way to this shrine with
shinigamitabris who stole my Momo Ice and gave me her Ichigo Icee after we ate yakisoba and chicken skewers.

Mmmmm. Festival Food. :D
It was really yummy and Tabs and I shared. Because you know, Tabs is a picky eater and I couldn't eat that much. It worked out. *\o/*

The steam to the left of Sensoji and at another part of the temple grounds. *___*

I like waterfalls.

Really. I do.

And all the pretty koi swimming.

rightsock was totally feeding them so that they would swim around in a huge bunch and he could take pictures of them. I couldn't decide which shot I liked better, so you get both. :D
Hmmm....I should load up some more pictures.
