morning sucks...i'm sneezing and sniffling like crazy. stupid allergies...they all came back!

anyways...just wanted to vent a little. my mom totally hates my haircut. she started yelling at me. she thinks my previous cut was better since it didn't make me look fat. but i hated that haircut when i walked out of the salon! i was about to cry when i got that haircut!

this haircut, i totally love! i was really happy with it. mom was just going off on how she could have cut my hair like that if she wanted to and how i wasted money on a cut like this. then she told me that the haircut made my face looked fat.

i was pretty upset so i just retorted back "so i have a fat face..." man....she was on the phone talking to a friend about me in front of me! i was like...damn..if u don't like u don't have to tell ur friend. after all that, she goes off and tells her friend how i'm such a willful child and always talking back. dammit, i'm old enough not to deal with that shit. i have plans i want to do and i'm not gonna be talked about as if i'm a little child. i'm more responsible than that. fuck, if i wanted i could act exactly like my younger sibs and raise hell and cause them lots of heartbreak but i don't. she keeps going on saying how we don't respect our parents and such, well where's our respect?

yeah i love my parents but it's like a double-edge sword. in numerous efforts to satisfy the parents, you sacrifice yourself. when trying to satisify yourself, you sacrifice your parents' will. damned if you do, damned if you don't. sometimes i hate how asian parents are. so restrictive and unseeing.

freakin' a. this happened early evening yesterday and i'm still bothered by it.

seriously!!! i know esp. since ur parents and my parents are like this *crosses fingers* and they're sooo similar that it's frightening! but my dad really likes the cut. chris doesn't really like the highlights all that much but i love it. it's funky and light. it makes me look super chinese or japanese!

Awwww *hugs* i bet your haircut is fabulous its just that these viet parents just dont understand style and apparently everything cute makes us look fat. I completley understand that double-edge sword because thats me and the rest of my dads family. But again as long as you are happy with that hair cut thats all that matters!!

*hugs* thanks babe! well...my mom is all about the old, classic style. she keeps telling me to dress my age which she thinks should be old and demure...totally not who i am. and since i'm not the typical 5'1", size 0,and petite viet girl, i'm screwed to hear criticism about the weight and how things look. ah well...parents. gotta love 'em. i love the hairstyle.....makes me want to get blue highlights!

true. but i wonder if we're going to emulate our parents when we raise our children. or if we'll raise our kids drastically different from our own upbringing. makes it interesting to think about until we actually go through the process of being parents to smart-alecky twenty-something year olds.

oh wait. i forgot. i don't want kids. yay! i get to skip that stage! *snickers* all i have to do is worry about my parents giving me the same grief when i'm fifty.

hey Julia!! can't wait to see you and your "infamous" new hairstyle that's causing so much controversy. heh. if you like it, i like it! change is good sometimes. hair grows back, mom! sometimes parents give us so much grief about everything - they're all about criticism and they're rarely supportive and understanding of who we are as a person and as a woman living in America. that's one thing i will do differently when raising my own children. less of the negative thing and more of the positive and the necessary.

i know!!!! but as fordy said...such is life.

i'm glad that the rest of my family likes it....except chris didn't like the two colors for highlights. he said it should be all auburn or all light brown...oh well...i like it..it suits my funky self at the moment. i feel more like a rock chick!

can't wait to see ya on sat.! did u tell the rest of the sisters?!
