[personal profile] jemz
I really love this icon. Ryohei is totally a Ravenclaw. *___* and a blue butterfly.

I am now back at home (have been since Sunday afternoon) and I really miss everyone at Prophecy! I had an absolute blast! It was good to see familiar faces (from Lumos!!!) and meet new ones!

So my flight from Denver to Toronto was completely delayed because we had no pilot. The pilot was flying another plane into Denver from Dallas and we had to sit on our plane and wait for him. I didn't mind so much but I was starting to get irritated when the little kids behind me kept kicking my seat and grabbing strands of my hair when they switched seats between them. Plus, I was surrounded by their family although I had some legroom.

I finally got into Toronto and paid an absurd amount of money to get to my hotel where I was lovingly glomped by [livejournal.com profile] longleggedgit, [livejournal.com profile] cmere, [livejournal.com profile] goldie, [livejournal.com profile] maxine_chan, and [livejournal.com profile] mousapelli. I think I was stared at by [livejournal.com profile] bouncy, [livejournal.com profile] illuminations, [livejournal.com profile] marksykins, and [livejournal.com profile] tehlils since we didn't really get a chance to be introduced and feel the fate love (but that was soon rectified in the next few days! :D )

I don't quite remember a whole lot of the actual events of the con but I remember a lot of fangirling glee, a lot of love, a lot of "HI! HOW ARE YOU DOING!?" and "OMG! YOU'RE [insert name]!!! I TOTALLY FANGIRL YOU!!!" in what wifey calls my cute Valley Girl accent, some searching for food I can eat that isn't made with sugar, concentrates, and more sugar!, getting art from fabulous artists whom I just fangirl over and writing crack drabbles (Snape/Hyde ftw!), seeing the Royal Ontario Museum, and "PARTY LIKE A ROCKSTAR!" at the ball. Plus, hanging out at the pool and the hot tub throughout various times of the day was really fun as well as relaxing. We bought some Rum and other alcohol since paying $9-11 CAD was sort of ridiculous for an 8oz drink and had a lot of fun on Friday and Saturday night.

It was all so much fun and I am really glad I came, if just to meet the awesome people I hung out with. I think [livejournal.com profile] marksykins is convinced that [livejournal.com profile] illuminations and I can switch places on a whim and [livejournal.com profile] bouncy is adorably cute and laughs really hard when I glomp/bounce her. [livejournal.com profile] goldie's belgian waffle with strawberries nearly made me want to break my sugar bet but she is sweet enough without eating all that yummy dessert. [livejournal.com profile] longleggedgit is an adorable Harry and I would totally dance around with her on the dance floor any day just to better music with a better dj. Sorry, his transitions SUCKED. :| . [livejournal.com profile] cmere is a wonderful bed mate and I still love her cheeks. *squishes* [livejournal.com profile] maxine_chan is still oh so wonderful and tall and mellow and gosh, I love just relaxing with her in the room and we're all on separate laptops. [livejournal.com profile] tehlils was so cute and she flailed with me over Kanjani8 while I spammed the entire room with w-inds. and DBSK because, hey, I'm a jpop addict like that. And I love how we all piled on the bed to watch Hana Kimi ep. 2's Sano/Nakatsu's kiss. :DDDDDDD [livejournal.com profile] mousapelli is just so sweet and totally PI. She gave me a PINK shell bracelet. :| BUT WE MATCH! ALL CON, WE MATCHED! :DDDDD god, i am so like her Jin And I really was easy like Jin. We are not going to discuss details but apparently, I have Jin hips. :X [livejournal.com profile] reposoir came down and I was really glad to meet/see her even though we didn't hang out as much as I would like since I was getting art downstairs but I flailed at her for coming! [livejournal.com profile] xingou is utterly wonderful and so cute after helping me with my makeup for the ball and she's really fun to talk to!

The slashers luncheon on Thursday was a lot of fun and I got to meet [livejournal.com profile] tracy_loo_who and [livejournal.com profile] sexts and several others whose names escape me! Everyone was fun and we had a great discussion over where we're from and so forth. It was a getting to know each other sort of thing and I totally wish that there was more time to talk to everyone else that was there ([livejournal.com profile] emmagrant01, [livejournal.com profile] furiosity, [livejournal.com profile] djin7, etc.).

The Canon Deathday Dinner at Richtree Market was awesome. [livejournal.com profile] furiosity did a fabulous job picking out the restaurant and we had a huge section reserved just for us. I pulled everyone towards this nifty alcove with the huge circular booth. It was good times and we all ate so much! The food was delicious and my cafe au lait was HUGE. *__* and Goldie-kun and MousaPi got desserts that smelled absolutely delicious while some of us got huge alcoholic drinks. SO YUMMY.

The H/D dinner the next day was a lot of fun too! [livejournal.com profile] fiona_fawkes did a fabulous job and we were at Spring Rolls (whose food was okay. I didn't try the Pho at all. >.> *snob* but I did have some good tangy mango chicken and shrimp special!) We passed around a lot of books to sign in and I got to talk to [livejournal.com profile] emmagrant01 for a bit. :D I adore her. She's really so awesome! (shush, I know. I talk like a valley girl from Southern California. :-P) [livejournal.com profile] bouncy and I did naughty things with the plastic men with parachutes and [livejournal.com profile] the_zedmeister and all of us had a lot of fun afterwards drinking and hanging out.

I spent some time in the art room just hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] xingou and met [livejournal.com profile] hill_ and [livejournal.com profile] kurasu_hime, both whose art I adore. :D I got my OTP drawn by [livejournal.com profile] karasu_hime in exchange for a drabble! YAY! And more art from [livejournal.com profile] cathybites, [livejournal.com profile] dramedy, and [livejournal.com profile] tbranch!! I didn't get a chance to get art from [livejournal.com profile] pinkelephant but she is so adorable when I met her at dinner. :D Plus, I am expecting drabbles from [livejournal.com profile] cmere and [livejournal.com profile] longleggedgit (SPUNKY!!!! :D ).

I also got a chance to visit the Royal Ontario Museum. *____* I love museums. So I was really happy to get a chance to explore this one before dinner with the group. [livejournal.com profile] tbranch was nice enough to be my museum buddy and we explored the Canadian subway for the first time. It is not as easy as the Japanese subway/JR system because there wasn't a machine to buy a ticket and only way to enter. People were just streaming through and I felt bad we held up the line at the ticket counter. OH WELL. But ROM was really awesome with the glass section on the front and the older historical building in the back. Plus, all the exhibits! *__________* We saw exhibits on China, Japan (I LOVE THE TEA CEREMONY THINGS ON DISPLAY), the Heaven and Hell exhibit with a beautiful, beautiful picture of a samurai fighting a tiger and a dragon, Peru, Greece, Egypt, the Natural History exhibit with its huge moose and the gorgeous display of birds in flight and the not so pretty bugs on display. *shudders* Did I ever mention that I am like Shige and hate bugs?! He hates caterpillars and I hate those bugs with long spindly legs or those with a multitude of tiny legs. yes, which includes caterpillars and centipedes. ick. The butterflies were beautiful but there were surrounded by icky bugs and thus I did not get a closer look. We saw a lot of things and it was fantastic. Then walking back, I was thinking how much I enjoyed the eclectic mix of modern and historical buildings that made up Toronto. ♥!

The ball that night was fun even if the dj sucked. (sorry, had to repeat it again. It was that bad. There was a lot of merengue/latin house mixed in with Top 40 mixed in with music from Rocky Horror plus other things and I wasn't feelin' the way the dj kept singing along with the lyrics. TAIYO sings better than him. >.> ) I had fun hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] cmere, [livejournal.com profile] longleggedgit, [livejournal.com profile] tehlils, [livejournal.com profile] hill_, [livejournal.com profile] glockgal, [livejournal.com profile] cathybites, [livejournal.com profile] tbranch, [livejournal.com profile] karasu_hime, [livejournal.com profile] mudblood428 (who's so adorable and bouncy when she's grooving!), and everyone else! Everyone loved my fake lashes. :D They are made of awesome. \:D/ I love the look [livejournal.com profile] furiosity gave me when she touched them. >]

MousaPi and I stayed up all night in order to catch our 5:30am cab to the airport. And I was still on California time, so I was pretty sleepy by then because that's 2:30am and we boarded our plane at 4:30am PST and I was just dying of sleep-dep. Crashed out on the plane and managed to land on time at 10am PST/1pm EST and hung out for a bit. Wifey had major delays and didn't fly out to SF until later and had to be re-routed to Seoul (where she didn't nab me any SuJu members at ALL!) before flying into Osaka to meet up with MousaPi (NAB ME RYOHEI, JAEJOONG, JIN, PI, SHIGE, OHNO, RYOHEI, KEITA, RYUICHI, YUNHO, YOOCHUN, JUNSU, CHANGMIN, RYOHEI, JIN, OR SHOON. :D) and I am utterly GREEEEEEEEEEEEEN with envy that they are seeing six w-inds. concerts before flying back to stay with me for a few days.

afajf;alkf

That took forever to type. :D Anyways, the gist is that I had a blast and am wondering who's going to TERMINUS in Chicago, PORTUS in Dallas, and we are ALL GOING TO SECTUS IN 2009, Y/Y?

I came home utterly exhausted but to the chants of "UCHI UCHI UCHI UCHI" from my non-HP, JE-luvin' flist and flailed in "UCHIUCHIUCHI" chat, so I will be stalking friending everyone from that as well as whomever wants to read my boring journal from Prophecy. *flails* Plus, seeing Ohmiya cuddle is adorably cute and I want fic! And then I read [livejournal.com profile] pinkpapyrus's Uchi/Kanjani8 fic and I flailed some more.

The last 6 days have been fantastic. ♥

P.S. [livejournal.com profile] simplyjenn, I have your wedding present! I got my dates mixed up and I missed out on it! D: But I will send it to you soooooon!!!!!!! *SMOOOOOOCHIES* I AM SORRY, I FAIL.

P.P.S. CONGRATS, [livejournal.com profile] veilsdegto on your engagement!!!!! If you do put me in Orange Taffeta, I am so standing in between you and your hubby on your wedding day. *threatens*

P.P.P.S. Prophecy-goers, I am breaking my own paranoid rule and am saying it's okay to post my picture up under a friends-lock. >_> I may change my mind but seeing how so many people saw me at Lumos/Prophecy and how it is really easy to point me out (OMG! The asian chick with "impressive breasts"! [quoted by [livejournal.com profile] marksykins]), I am caving in. :-P

I had thought about Portus but Dallas in July is just wrong, so possibly aiming for Terminus? And Sectus sounds fabu,. but the boy would kill me for going to england without him.

I'm thinking about Portus as well but I'm not sure if I could swing it since I am planning a trip to Seoul and Tokyo within the same time frame. Terminus may be more feasible and since more of the people I was hanging out with are leaning towards that one.

You should take the boy to England and spend a few days with us at Sectus! :D

I would love to, but I cannot see that being his ideal way of spending 2000-3000 dollars.

Ahhh...very true.

I think I just love the fact that I'm traveling to a different city each time and meeting up with good friends for a fun time. It pulls me into planning for the next time.

Money is such a pain. :| Always stopping us from doing what we should be doing, fangirl.

I am so glad that I am not the only one who enjoys the ROM. All the Torontonians were whining about how it was awful! It was really so awesome to meet you. And I'm pretty sure my knowledge of wine has expanded threefold thanks to you. :D

Date: 2007-08-07 07:08 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] swtjemz.livejournal.com
YAY! You went there too? I really liked it and I think [livejournal.com profile] tbranch did too. I enjoyed the variety of exhibits they had and it was really neat to see them all in one museum that could easily be done in a few hours. I don't know why Torontonians would whine about such a fabulous museum!

I am delighted to have met you too! I love wine. So anytime you want to know more, I can gush on and on about it. And my best advice to knowing more is try more. At parties or dinners or at wine bars. It took me a while to figure out what I liked and didn't and from then on, it's been a wild time with fabulous people that you meet from just trying the wines out. I've met a lot of cool people from just wine-tasting. :D

*FRIENDS*

Not this weekend, I didn't. But I've been numerous times over the years, since I only live 1.5hrs away. :)

Well because a lot of them feel it's not as good as European museums and such. It's small. So therefore not of the same quality? I don't know. But it'll always been a little happy place for me. It's a bonus that it's so close!

So far all I've really learned about wine is that I'm not a big fan of red, and that I don't like my whites and blushes too fruity or sweet. And then you came along and knew things about wine by region. I was very impressed!

Yay friends! :D

Oh, how exciting!

Ahhh. I see. I've only been to a few in London and a lot of them in Japan but I thought it was a wonderful museum. I liked the diversity it has and I don't think it's small at all. The Rosicrucian Museum () in my city is one of my favorite museums and it's a really tiny one. But extremely cool. I think it depends on how you experience museums. ROM, i think, has a pretty high quality so I wonder if they want to talk about the sheer awe factor that comes from other museums, especially the ones in the UK. but regardless, I loved it! :DDD

Oooh. All reds? Which ones have you tried? I started out as a white wine sort of person and felt out what I liked in reds. I don't like Merlots or Cabernet Savignons at all since they both have that oaky taste that I can't get into. I like the bigger reds or the more peppery ones like Syrah/Shiraz or something lighter like Pinot Noirs. I do like Sangiovese which is great with with pasta that have red meat or an intensely flavored chicken. My current favorite red (other than Syrah) is Malbec. I really love the ones from Argentina. They are light and utterly drinkable after you aerate it for an hour.

:D I can go on and on!

From: [identity profile] starlitshore.livejournal.com
Well, I'm glad then! That means I can recommend it to tourists that come to Toronto and know that people that aren't from there will appreciate it. :)

Well I think my problem is that all I've been able to try were Merlots and Cabarnet Savignons. I've also tried a Shiraz, which I admittedly liked better than the others. Pinot Noirs, I've heard good things about. I'll have to try some of them. It's funny, because I really do not like the taste of alchohol at all, but wines are entirely different and I find I enjoy them much more. Strange, considering most people can't get a taste for wine, but love regular alcoholic drinks.

Date: 2007-08-07 09:59 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] swtjemz.livejournal.com
*nods* :D

Oh, I love Shiraz. Especially the Rosemount Shiraz since it's affordable and from Australia. Pretty close to [livejournal.com profile] goldie from what I remember.

Malbecs are fairly smooth and I like them a lot! Merlots and Cabernets were just too heavy with fruit and too bold on my tongue. They were also complex but I didn't like the heaviness so much.

Wines are so much more fun to drink and experiment with. Especially when you eat something and then have a sip. The flavor changes with the food and when you're drinking it alone. I consider it a wonderful day when I'm having wine with my meals. It's also a really fun social thing to do and I felt so grown up when I started drinking with my meals. :D Totally sophisticated.

Date: 2007-08-07 10:19 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] starlitshore.livejournal.com
Much more sophisticated than screwdrivers, anyway!

Yes, it's how bold they are that gets me. I'm not one for things that taste heavy or intense, so smoother wines tend to go over better with me. I'll have to grab a bottle for when I move back in to residence in September. I'll get my floormates to celebrate with me!
