Jun. 9th, 2004 01:35 pmwhooo....the weekend WORE me out!
had a small bbq with some good friends. ate lots of korean bbq...wished
veilsdegto could've made it up here to hang out. ah well...i'm going down there next weekend for some more korean bbq! whoO hOo...time for some good partying!
sunday, i got dragged to Great America. literally. got woken up and given 15 minutes to get ready and be out the door since my ride was waiting outside my house 8 minutes after i was startled into semi-coherency. then had to wait until the rest of the gang showed up. spent the day walking around and being dragged onto the spinning rides since Katrina and I don't like roller coasters. ended up having dinner at Bennigan's. their "death by chocolate" is freakin' yummmmmmy!!!! i definately want to try their white chocolate version next time....
monday was a busy day....had class right after and i was just exhausted from the weekend. i wanted to watch more anime like how we did on sat. at ant's place. it was pretty cool watching naruto on the plasma tv that he has. definately gotta do it again. trying to get him hooked on to Naruto...but so far...failing. ah well..maybe when the fights get better!
tuesday was just as busy....i went in to the berryessa school to watch the tail-end of the "old skool" training with KJN Tony Thompson. kuya was there and i wanted to see everyone's reaction to Ethan, his 1 yr-old son. I walked in and KJN Tony just lit up with surprise and delight. he walked over and gave me a big bear hug. man, i missed training with him....it was the hardest training in my life, but the man had a way of inspiring you to try harder! it was good to see him again despite his rapid questions of "are you married? do u have any babies? got a fiance? did u finish school? are u happy?" to which i could smile and either nod or shook my head to each question. *sigh* maybe i should get back into TKD with them...but things change so much that i don't know if i have the same motivation. he still wants me to go for the next level but i'm totally iffy about the level of commitment to actually achieving it. ah well........gotta think about it some more. i think it's the sparring that deters me. i hate sparring with a passion!
so i got to see the shock and delight on everyone's faces as they took in the fact that jimmy has an adorable little boy that looks exactly like him! lol....i can't wait until ethan grows up big enough to actually start learning tkd. gotta teach him to beat up his dad!
anyways...back to work i go....maybe i'll be able to catch a few more episodes of anime before dance class........update more later!

Date: 2004-06-10 10:52 pm (UTC)personally, i like the girly series more. however, i do recommend Initial D (if you like racing and fast cars), Ruroni Kenshin (if you like the samurai stuff...but only up to the Shishio arc. anything after that is bleh.), Naruto (if you like kick-ass ninjas and neat tricks), GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka (for the cool perverted teacher), Weiss Kruez (for the assassins), and a couple more of the super girly ones. the ones mentioned above are among my favourites that my male friends like to watch with me...esp. the first three. It really depends on your taste in anime and the storylines. one of my close friends didn't like Trigun while I really enjoyed it.
I go down to SD once in a few months or whenever i feel like getting away from the bay area. i go mainly to hang out with
