so i was a bum all day yesterday until last nite. i had no appetite and tried to finish some jello. took me a while....the good news is that i can keep down rice porridge. mom made some and we tested it out. my tummy rumbled and grumbled but it didn't reject the soup. thank god. so i felt a little bit better. well enough to go out and see a movie with some friends.

i met up with gene-bear a few minutes of the meeting time. i didn't want him to wait in line all by his lonesome. told him what happened and went to stand in line for Tupac Resurection, the documentary on his life. it was a cool film. you hear his voice most of the time and see the cute baby pictures. you see the harsh reality of the ghetto and what was going on with the rest of america. you see how lyrical he was. how much he wrote. how much he strived to be happy with what he had. how much he started to make as much music as he could before his time ran out.

i walked away...feeling like he accomplished so much for only living a quarter of a century. the age that i am at now and i've not done as much as he had. you couldn't help but feel the blaze of light that was tupac. the film showed his beliefs, his mistakes, his honesty......it was cool to see someone who made mistakes and owned up to it. to see someone who regretted how some things came to be and yet made the best of it. to someone who was smart enough to look beyond the material things and advocate peace and treating women right.

tupac is one of the best icons in hiphop/rap history.
