So disappointed with California on Prop. 8.

Taking away someone's right to marriage is not something I'm ever an advocate for. What's next? Banning bi-racial marriage?

I just heard. After waking up to an America that seems so hopeful, it is a blow that almost brought me to tears. I am lucky to live in a country where gay marriage is legal, because I never have to worry about any of my many gay friend's, and family (my foster brother) ever being denied that right.

I've never understood why people are so adamant about it. I've always believed that you can marry who ever you want to marry as long as you love each other.

;aldsfj;ls this is such a step backwards. But I think that we'll fight even more fiercely for equal rights for all.

As Voltaire once said, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". I will continue to defend to the death of people's rights to marry who they want to marry, whether they are straight, gay, bi, or a-sexual.

;alkfslfa;ljf;aslkf D: Oh CALIFORNIA.

This will go to court...... The election last night shows we can make a difference. All that happened w/ Prop 8 is that we organized too late! DON'T GIVE UP!! Put away your hankies and keep advocating for change!

Separate but equal rides again.

On the upside the vote was much closer then it has been for previous initiatives, but that still doesn't soften the realization that my state has decided to legalize discrimination.

So disappointed in California. =/

However, I have faith that civil law suits will be filed in record time and record number.

I feel like they did it mostly because Obama won. They were like "NO! TOO MUCH CHANGE! NO! MUST... STAY... BIGOTS..." or something. :\ But still. So disappointing. >.< Cali, you know better than that. D< Sigh.

It'd always remain shocking to me how people campaign to take away someone's basic human rights, and yelling "Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve" as if it was some kind of solid justification. And the no "Dad and Dad" - just because someone is getting married doesn't automatically mean they're going to have children...jeez and I thought we were living in the 21st Century!

I mean really...Coming from a country where Freedom is apparently so important...Though what I can't forgive is teaching your children intolerance too.
