Firmly in the middle of Capricorn time and with the end of the year coming, I feel this sudden urge to be completely contrary (and I'm an Aquarian, if you want to know ). I want to go and drop everything to go to Japan (THANKS A LOT, darlita ) or to Europe (esp. after talking to Doris and the cousins).

Italy sounds beautiful and I want to visit. But at the same time, I want to go back to London and paint a few nights red with good friends and sip a frothy hot chocolate at my favorite little cafe in SoHo while watching life go by and just visit museums and hang out with with shabzilla, shimmeredusk, Tim, and a few others. Or sit at a small cafe in Paris and watch life go by, see the L'Arc de Triomphe and wander the Louvre. Go wine tasting in Champagne and the rest of wine country. Explore the ruins in Greece. Things like that.

The traveling the world sounds very lovely and more romantic in my head than anything else. But I know that if I'm traveling, I'll definitely want to see everything. Nothing really holds me back from just being on the go. Not even pesky things like being sick and cigarette smoke. Museums, parks, shopping, plays, movies, concerts, people. All these interest me because it offers me such a life changing experience even when they are simple things that I can do at home.

I guess all this just signifies that I want a change in my life. I don't know if the wanderlust bug bit me really hard but for this upcoming year, I want to experience positive changes and travel. Maybe pick up a few new hobbies or returned to neglected ones.


Also, I forgot to flail over this but I got a new ear piercing! I finally plucked up enough courage to get it done (i.e. I AM A REALLY BIG WIMP WHEN IT COMES TO PAIN). So I have a pretty tragus piercing in my right ear. It's starting to be a bit itchy and I have to constantly remind myself not to touch it. It's still a bit tender when I clean it but I am hoping that will pass sooner rather than later. But I did it and fulfilled another goal to a really memorable year.

I hope the rest of this year is a good one for everyone.

I totally understand the travel bug. I *love* to travel, and I have never stopped travelling since I've been old enough and in a position financially to do so on my own. I love the trips I take with husband, family and friends, but I love going off and vsiting places on my own the most - I've never found it lonely, and there is nothing more romantic than walking around cities like Venice at sunset. I never intend to stop seeing and experiencing other countries and cultures, and I'm very lucky to have a husband who understands my wanderlust and has never once attempted to change that part of me. I hope you get to travel to all the places you would like, and see and do all the things you want in the year(s) ahead.

Congratulations on your new ear-piercing, will keep fingers it heals quickly!

Traveling all over the world does sound lovely right now. I don't suppose you'll be able to go to all those places in the near future, but I hope you at least get to do a lot of fun traveling soon.

And yay for new piercings. I want to get some new ones, but with my current job, it's probably not the best idea to get it done until February. Last thing I need is the 9 month old baby I sit for tugging on them during the first month of healing.
