Just because. :)

Guilty Confession #1

~ I miss the public baths in Japan. I like how deep the baths are. I can sit in them, hot water up to my collarbone, and just soak. It's so relaxing and after I got over that "modesty" thing, I really enjoyed the baths. Especially the open air bath. That and I like how my b00bs float. :x

Guilty Confession #2

~ Okay, not really a confession since practically everyone knows but I really like cute, dorky guys with a nice smile. I don't care who or what language they speak, if they are an idol or not. If I see someone with a nice smile, I want to get to know them (if they are someone I can approach) or admire from a far. Because, man am I a sucker for a nice smile. yes, i do have an obsession with lips. wot?

Guilty Confession #3

~ As much as I love pop in many of its forms, I do like other music. Some say I have an eclectic taste but I just like what I like. I like a good beat, soft or hard, it doesn't matter. Hence my love for House, Jungle, Happy Hardcore, Jazz, New Age, Alternative, and anything else that catches my fancy like children's music, some folk music from other languages (I blame this on my mom for liking Korean's Trot music and my dad for liking Vietnamese folk music).

Guilty Confession #4

~ Fake Lashes. Totally and utterly addicted. I adore these from MakeUp Forever at Sephora as people from the Japan trip would nod agreably. My next pair are those black feathers and the pink one with feathers. Yes. PINK ONES. My love for fake lashes has brought me to that fence and over it. I want to wear them with the hot pink skirt that I own. :3

Guilty Confession #5

~ Tea. Well, that's not really a guilty confession. But I like buying tea for the scent. And I buy so many different kinds, only to drink a fraction of it. But still. Tea. Mmmmm. The ones I really love get bumped into the queue of constant tea drinking while the yummy and expensive ones are lower in the queue because hey, it's expensive and I like expensive tea whenever I'm feeling extravagant or hosting a party or when I need a pick-me-up. I also have this urge to go to a butler cafe and have tea with friends. Or open up a butler cafe in the Castro District in SF.

Guilty Confession #6

~ Spacing out aka daydreaming. I daydream a lot. I'm a total dreamer. Extraverts charge their energy by being surrounded by people. I do that but I'd rather sit with friends and space out for a bit. Then I'd join the conversation and be much more relaxed. Then there are times when I'm cloudwatching, that I'd just completely space out and daydream. What do I dream about? Stories, a better world, a different scenario, meeting a new alien species, exploring space, different scenarios in which I can win the lottery so I can live in Japan or start a jpop commune close to Kinokuniya and chubbycheeked!Jin. Errr. Something like that. ^^; "hey BooJae." says tabris. "....eh?" says me.

Guilty Confession #7

~ The only reason for this post was to gush over confession #4 but I couldn't leave it alone and 7 is a lucky number for me. So yeah. It was just a pointless post but one that sorta shows that a)I love funky fake lashes, b)I ate a huge dinner last night and it didn't come back up, and c)I'm feeling better. Oh and d) I'm a dork. *\O/*

How are you doing, flist? ^_^ Got any guilty confessions to make?

I'm really curious how these public baths in Japan work...like...a hot tub with lots of other people in them, or...?

I didn't really go to a public bathhouse while I was there but both ryokans that we stayed had communal baths.

There would be an area to wash up with detachable showerheads. There are small stools nearby along with small tubs that you can just fill up and dump over your body. At both ryokans, shampoo, conditioner, and soap were available. The bath was pretty big in the ryokan we stayed at in Kyoto and could easily fit 6-8 ladies. The one in Tokyo was a bit smaller and maybe fit 4-5 ladies. The open air bath at the same ryokan fits about the same number.

The water temperature is pretty hot (to my standards) but if you like it hot, then it's good. If not, um...try the open air bath if possible. The thing about the hot bath is that if you soak too long, you get lightheaded. :/

and yes, you do get nekkid with other ladies but in japan, modesty doesn't factor in at the bathhouse.

Here's a link (http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2002.html) that describes it fairly well if your hotel room comes with a japanese-style bath. Or this link (http://www.fabuloustravel.com/globe/japanbath/japanbath.html) if there's a communal bath at your hotel/ryokan.

Hope that helps!
