drive me crazy...

I had my first lesson in driving stick shift tonight after a futile trek to the mall to get coldstone ice cream. I was super nervous when yzo handed me the keys to shiny blue car (otherwise known as Emma) and told me I had to drive. It was a sink or swim moment as they talked me through reversing out of the lot and onto the streets.

Whenever I took my time, I shifted better. Whenever I was more nervous and panicky, um, let's just say a lot of headbobbing occurred. Plus, the more frustrated I got, the more tension I had, the more effort I needed to make in order to relax and shift naturally.

First gear pwns me so hard. First into Second is so not my internet friend. But Second into Third and then into Fourth are my new buddies.

But it amused me that the mistakes that yzo and sandpanther (my awesome teachers!) expected me to make happened at the end. I just need to remember not to let other people bully me in the slow lane. XD

Hopefully, more practice will come soon. I hope I get proficient enough that I can drive in my 3inch heels. I am no Mako (of Impact Blue in Initial D) but I definately want to be able to drive a manual in heels. Especially since I have so many of them! XD

Wow. That's wonderful!! I wish I could learn too but my dad an I have been planning on the lessons for sooo freakin long now maybe it's never gonna happen. lol. But YAY for you!! :D

It's been a long time coming for the stick shift lesson but at least now I can help drive when teh wifey and I embark on our trek to Prophecy. ^_^

OMFG! I remember when I learned stick shift! That was literally 10 years ago! I hated when my sister taught me she would yet -_-;; but my uncle taught me and I <3 it ahaha I'm a little speed demon with a stick shift >.<

Dude you've mastered stick shift when you can eat a taco/burrito w/hot sauce and you can eat a fcukin salad from jack in the crack while driving.. oh and MAKE UP! THat's when you've totally mastered it! ahaha

lol. I don't think I even mastered driving an automatic to do all those things since I pay a lot of attention to the road rather than doing things in the car other than bop to the music.

I still can't believe you all drive automatics over there! Everyone learns manual here in the UK first. If you don't then you don't get a full licence, only one to drive an automatic.

It gets easier honest! I passed my test three months after I started driving. Manual's are way more fun than automatics. Faster too.. And we all know that faster is funner! :D

The only really hard part about driving a clutch with heels (or most girlie shoes for that matter) is if the shoe kinda pops off your heel when you push in the clutch. Having your heel catch on the carpet does not make for smooth shifting!

Anyway, congrats on learning a new skill. Yea!

yeah. I was thinking about that when contemplating on how to drive with heels. that would be really interesting if i was to drive in San Francisco with heels.
