drive me crazy...

I had my first lesson in driving stick shift tonight after a futile trek to the mall to get coldstone ice cream. I was super nervous when![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
yzo handed me the keys to shiny blue car (otherwise known as Emma) and told me I had to drive. It was a sink or swim moment as they talked me through reversing out of the lot and onto the streets.
Whenever I took my time, I shifted better. Whenever I was more nervous and panicky, um, let's just say a lot of headbobbing occurred. Plus, the more frustrated I got, the more tension I had, the more effort I needed to make in order to relax and shift naturally.
First gear pwns me so hard. First into Second is so not my internet friend. But Second into Third and then into Fourth are my new buddies.
But it amused me that the mistakes thatyzo and sandpanther (my awesome teachers!) expected me to make happened at the end. I just need to remember not to let other people bully me in the slow lane. XD
Hopefully, more practice will come soon. I hope I get proficient enough that I can drive in my 3inch heels. I am no Mako (of Impact Blue in Initial D) but I definately want to be able to drive a manual in heels. Especially since I have so many of them! XD
