err...

I got tagged with the music meme but i forget who and the logistics. But here are my 6 songs that are currently on constant repeat and why. My laptop hates me and refuses to load the songs up so I'm very sorry if you have to go out and search for them. *smoochies*

1. Shakira f. Alejandro Sanz - La Tortura
~ Okay, aside from the song making me shaking my hips in poor mimicry of a horrible belly-dancer or even my version of doing the samba, this is the song I was listening to when I received news of my friend's suicide two weeks ago. It's still on repeat and I've struggled in not bursting into tears every time I hear it. I've been replacing that memory with better times spent with her when that song pops on....which is about once every 15 minutes. It's my own way of dealing with the grief.

2. Maroon 5 - Secret
~ Err...because this mood catches how I feel whenever I write my RP character in [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_bound (which won't be opened until 6/25!!!). It makes me smile and adore his pairing. Plus, it's a damn good song. >.> It also reminds me of Ewan McGregor...all hot and sweaty from riding his bike. very sensual. very guuuuuh.

3. Move - Sweet Vibration
~ This song has been on repeat in my car. I've been bouncing along to it and just been letting myself go. It's a fun and fast song. A nice mix between Japanese and English....somewhat. Move is the group that does most of the beginning and ending songs for Initial D. They have an edgier sound that I really enjoy. Plus it helps that I've already love many of their songs.

4. Savage Garden - Fly to the Moon and Back
~ OLD SCHOOL!!! I cannot tell you how much I love Savage Garden and this song in particular. I currently play the remix of the song and it makes me happy. That's all I can say, really. It makes me smile the biggest, dorkiest, silliest smile.

5. Kylie Minogue - Chocolate or Lovely Days
~ I can't decide between the two songs on her latest. I love them both for the slow, sensual beat. It makes for some great slow dancing *winks* I can just groove to the songs when I'm cleaning or eating my French truffles or sipping tea.

6. Punk Rock Princess - Something Corporate
~ This song was the first one that popped out of my mind out of all the myriad songs I have in my alternative collection. I love it's fun sound and the way it makes me bang my head. Plus, it reminds me of my younger sister. She's phasing out of a HUGE punk/alternative stage but it's one of the few songs that remind me of her no matter when or where I hear this song.

There are many, many, many other songs that I love too...but these are the ones that are in the current repeat button.

So, yesterday I went out and replenished the supplies need for the three first aid kits at home and in my car as well as the batteries for all the flashlights scattered around the house. I have a checklist for Earthquake Emergency that I've been using since news of yesterday's earthquake in Southern California.

Because 3 earthquakes in the space of 5 days is Not. Good. At. All.

Hence, I'm going to be getting some more supplies for food and water and all that. I can't drink all the lovely bottles of wine I bought last weekend without something to help with the hangover after the earthquake hits. =-P

So. Plans for the weekend. Tonite I have a show for Margaret Cho in San Francisco to celebrate my close friend's birthday. YAY! Then work (i.e. long, boring meeting) tomorrow morning, beach fun for [livejournal.com profile] no8ody's birthday in the afternoon, and then attending Killing Andy's last gig in Sunnyvale at night. I'm very sad to see my friends' break up but hey, time is ticking and I predict a reunion next year! Sunday is Papa's day...so I will be engaged in various functions and stuff with the family. Sis should be back from her business trip and my dad and bro will indulge in some male bonding while watching a sports game of some sort. Hopefully, bestest and her parents will be by to make things merry. *loves*

What are you guys doing this weekend? Be safe! To you Cali people, be extra safe!!! *snuggles*

People deal with grief in different ways, I'm obsessed with seeing the movie "Saved!". Not sure why, but I really like it right now.

Anyways, tell 6 I say happy b-day! Hope you guys have a good time.

And yes, be careful, baaaaad earthquakes.
