I want to stand on the San Andreas faultline because that's so amazing.
Go down to Hollister - they have a winery that sits across the fault line. Or head up to Bodega Bay, since the fault line runs right underneath the bay. Or if you're really adventurous go down to Carrizo Plains. There's a spot out there where you can see where the fault line runs.
Unfortunately all of these are a bit hard to have one foot on each plate, since the fault line itself tends to create depressions. (i.e., creeks and stuff.)
