Who exactly is this Akanishi Jin?

Quite simply, he is the A in very popular Johnny's Entertainment group called KAT-TUN. KAT-TUN was first put together as a group by Domoto Koichi of KinKi Kids and consists of Kamenashi Kazuya, Akinishi Jin, Taguchi Junnosuke, Tanaka Koki, Ueda Tatsuya, and Nakamaru Yuuichi.

We could just give you the basics. We could just give you the vital stats: born July 4th, 1984; joined Johnny's on November 8th, 1998. 5'7", greatest hair ever... yeah, whatever.

But the stories are what makes Jin fun. Like how Jin almost didn't make it into JE -- he failed the audition, but because he accidentally returned his nameplate to Johnny, Johnny asked him to stay for the rest of the audition, and to join the Jimusho. Or how he was so eager to please, and eager to be pleased as a junior -- whether it's pouring his heart and soul into performances, or acting like a goof with his best friends. Or how he considers his best friends (Yamashita Tomohisa aka Yamapi and Shirota Yuu) to be his life's treasure. Or how much he loves kids, little girls especially, since they gravitate towards him and he is the first to give them attention. Or how fun phrases like "car shrimp" and "we all go to helicopter sky" turned into six months in L.A., and a honestly pretty astonishing grasp of the English language. Or how his best friends all call him "Bakanishi" since he's more childishly self-centered but everyone loves him regardless. Or how he has the rumor of being... well, let's say easy... but he was so upset with the image that he went so far as to refute it during a concert MC. He's a bit of an anomaly in the entertainment world -- he sees through the facade of the entertainment industry, and assumes a face of apathy, but he puts up with it because you can really tell he enjoys the music. Because... we're here for the music, right?

Well, we have a LOT more pictures but we'll consider this a fair sampling of just how photogenic Jin is. Personally, we love how Jin is so comfortable in his own skin and how it shows through in the pictures. He doesn't care if he looks stupid or dumb or hot and sexy because he cares about being true to himself. And that in itself, is a sexy, sexy quality that we cherish about Jin. He shows a lot of confidence but he's very transparent and tries to hide when he's bored or hurt with minimal success. But, at the same token, when he's happy, you know he is.
