Pinky: So. What are we doing tonite, Brain?
Brain: The same thing we do every night.
Pinky: *thinks for a moment* Go off in pretty otaku costumes of Ranma and SailorMoon and go take pictures with stranger people?
Brain: No.
Pinky: Oh, so we're going to eat cheese doodles while doing the macarena?
Brain: No, we're...
Pinky: Oh! We're going to dress up as Harry Potter and go pick up some cute chicks!
Brain: No! *bonks Pinky over the head* We're going to do the same thing we do every night. *pause for dramatic effect* We're going to take over the world!

(heheh...fits with my resolution for the year! *snickers* anyways, the above conversation is the product of my sleep-deprived mind. I'll post something when I'm more coherent....with a few cups of tea/chocolate/sugar in my system.)

In the year 2005 I resolve to:

Take over the world.

The last line of an article I finished reading hits me and makes me tear up. It made me wonder about what is needed to help restore a devastated area. It made me wish I was a magician and with a flick of my wrist, the devastation would disappear. The mental anguish that so many suffer through the aftermath of the tsunami is affecting tens of thousands of people, esp. in a country that has the highest suicide rate in the world.

What can be done to save them? The outpouring of love and help is overflowing from all over the world, united in grief, horror, and compassion. Yet, there's still mini disasters waiting to happen. There are language barriers, fear of water-born diseases, not enough clean water to drink, not enough medicine that are going to the right places....and most importantly, not enough of an organized movement on the most basic level.

I wonder what else we can do to help.
