superstitions? psssshhhhaaaawww
May. 13th, 2005 01:53 pmHappy Friday the 13th, everyone!!!
Nothing much happening for me today. Still overwhelmed with work since I'm prepping for my vacation starting on WEDNESDAY!!! I'm still excited about it but it's been hectic and I'm a bit on the exhausted side. *glares at the work pile*
An interesting question for all you believers out there.
What superstitions do you (actively or not) believe in? and tell me all about it that makes you believe...
I'll start it off.....
I used to avoid walking underneath ladders. I believed it was all bad luck. One time, I had to walk underneath one. I was cringing the entire 2 seconds, hoping against hope that I wouldn't receive bad luck. Once I was on the other side, a deep sigh of relief escaped me when I realized that nothing happened. Then I had to cross underneath it again. I walked through with a confident air and then a book fell on top of my head. My friend came back to see that happen and teased me mercilessly over it. Needless to say, my belief in walking underneath ladders was renewed when that book left a painful bruise.

Date: 2005-05-13 09:36 pm (UTC)Well....in Italy Friday 17 is exactly like Friday 13 for the rest of the world...
Guess when I was born? Yes, Friday 17. :D
I guess I can say I'm pretty lucky tho, (even if I whine a bit about my crappy computer...), so no, I don't believe in superstitions...;-)

Date: 2005-05-14 01:35 am (UTC)1 Once you start carving your b/gf's name on your body, your relationship is sooooo freaking over!
2 When you lose something that your b/gf gave you, it's a bad sign.

Date: 2005-05-14 07:45 am (UTC)one is, if you forget something, and come back to get it, like back home for example, it is sooo a bad sign, for it to avoid it, you have to look in a mirror before you leave for the second time, this superstition runs in our family, my mom taught me that, and her mom taught her that and so on...
oh and I totaly belive in unlucky underwear =P
oh and one more.. not really superstition, but if you see a bad driver, they are mostly likely wearing a hat (I'm not kidding you)

Date: 2005-05-16 01:59 am (UTC)1) After you return to your house from a trip, you can't sleep there on your ninth day back. My dad actually dragged the whole family out of the house and over to a neighbor's for this one. ^^;;;
2) If someone brings a baby into your house, you have to put oil in its hair before it leaves, or you'll get bad luck. Yeah, we've done this too. ^_^
Oh, here's one I REALLY believe in!
