jemz: (panties)
I've been spending the last few months trying to wrap up all the loose ends for FanimeCon.

If y'all don't know, FanimeCon's MusicFest is having Matsushita Yuya and FLOW. I'm pretty excited for this year's guests.

Things have been super hectic since I'm heading off to Anime Central with a few friends. Gonna catch FLOW performing there as well. I'm excited since I haven't been to Chicago yet. Anyone going to Anime Central want to meet up? I promise I don't bite hard!

Once I get back, a few days later will be FanimeCon. Super excited for this year's convention. I hope all this hard work pays off in lots of smiles and hugs and fantastic times for all the members who come!

Anyways, I should probably start thinking of packing instead of doing more FanimeCon work. My eyes are beginning to cross!

Also, I've started reading manga on Maxi (my iPad2) with a cool app. Any suggestions for manga? I want to download a bunch to read on the plane rides to and from Chicago!
jemz: (schedule)
It's not news that I've been really busy. I've been working on lots of things! But hooray for bullet heart points!

♥ FanimeCon's first musical guest was announced last week! If you haven't checked out Matsushita Yuya's music, check it out! He has some really catchy tunes and nice dance moves!

♥ Work has been really busy. I'm learning lots of coding stuff. Enough to make me dizzy!

♥ FanimeCon has occupied a good chunk of my free time. But I love meeting days in that I get to see everyone and hang out. I like feeling that we're all working to make a great convention and that we care about what we are doing.

♥ Lent! I've decided to give up refined white sugar, meat, and negativity! I think the last one is the hardest but the Lenten season, to me, is about sacrifice and self-improvement! I think there's been a lot of negativity in my life recently and I'm dwelling way too much on it. I'm just going to accept it and push forward with optimisim.

♥ The fiance and I are doing well! Wedding plans are going slow since I'm sort of planning on some major events at a big anime convention.

♥ I've started working out again! Gotta fit into MY wedding dress for MY wedding!!! Heee, I enjoy writing that.

♥ I learned how to make French Macarons. Mmmmm. Sweet and delicious. I need to practice making more.

♥ I want to have pretty nails like [livejournal.com profile] snowqueenofhoth and [livejournal.com profile] mousapelli but....precious time! D: Maybe I can schedule time to do it into my schedule....

♥ Fiance is addicted to Rick Steves' travel shows. He has it on while working. lol.

♥ I got an Android phone! I miss shigedex's (a blackberry curve) buttons. This touchscreen thing is sort of not handy when I am trying to find things without looking at the phone. D: But the apps are shiny.

♥ My hair is getting longer and I really want to cut it super short but I also want to keep it semi-long for the wedding. And I don't really like cutting off my long hair without being able to donate it to Locks of Love. So I'm just making D: faces at it right now. I will probably chop it short after the wedding (WHICH IS HAPPENING NEXT YEAR) but for now tiny trims is all I can satisfy myself with.

♥ *HUGS ALL OF YOU* Stay awesome, flist! <3

Bonjour!!!

So I forgot to write and say that I'm taking a long holiday (well, only 2 weeks worth) in Europe.

Things are fairly stable at home so the BF and I went ahead with our Eurotrip.
EUROTRIP! )
jemz: (Tea)
Life is a blend of hectic activity, exhaustion, and Important Events.

I hate cleaning. Just saying'.

Planning my costume for my Halloween wine party. It's going to be fun! :D I'm gonna be a pirate since I have KAT-TUN's pirate sword penlight to help me out. Arrrgh, matey!

I started to do hiking with the bf. Who's an avid hiker and a big meanie for starting me out on one of the hardest trails in the area.

New phone! :D I got the Blackberry Tour. It's quite shiny.

Ssved some b00bies during my 5K walk in the OC last week. One of the biggest ones in the nation. There were 25,000 other people saving b00bies. :D

Sadly, I had to take out my left tragus piercing due to migration. I'm debating if I want to re-pierce it or not. Migrating after a year and a half is not something I care to repeat.

I've been going to the gym more. Which is good. The only bad parts are that I am sore and that I have less time to devote to LJ.

Still struggling with a few things but I'm hoping things will turn out okay. I'm anxiously waiting for that day.

I haz new Juicy Couture glasses. And they are sexy with their anti-glare coating.

Guess where I'll be NEXT WEEKEND?!?!?!?!?! Having dinner with [livejournal.com profile] musikologie, [livejournal.com profile] anumuan, and maybe [livejournal.com profile] mousapelli.....in DC. :D

<3 to all of you!
jemz: (DBSK - so tired!)
Oh hey, look who is online again!? Yup. That's right. ME!!! *happy dance*

Which isn't to say that I haven't exactly been without internet connection since I last posted in the warm lobby of the Hilton Seattle where I was enjoying Sakura-Con with some fantastic friends and making new ones. I've had internet......on my blackberry (aka Shige-Dex). I just haven't had time to make a post!

So what's new/happening/exciting in my life in the past two weeks?

I'm so glad you asked! )

So. How are you doing this fine spring? :D Less hectic than me, I hope. One day soon I will actually comment on your posts! Promise!

list!

Yo. I'm still here! Still busy! I'm frantically packing, procrastinating, packing, getting things together, packing for NEW ORLEANS to see ISO and JENY. OMG. I'm so excited! You have no idea how much running around I've done. I haven't checked LJ in ages and I feel so behind!!!

BUT BACK TO PACKING THINGS TO SEE ISO. OMG. YAY!!!!! Next time I post, I'll be in New Orleans. With ISO and Jeny. FLAILING LIKE MAD. fja;sldkfj;aslkdfj;laskjf;asldfj;aldsfkj;aldsfkja;ldsfkj;asldfj;ladsjf;ladsjf;ladsjf;ladsjf;ljadf;ljadsf;lja;ldsfj;ladsjf;lasdjf;lafdj

This means a long weekend of fun, laughter, ISO and JENY, bachelorette party madness, drinks galore, banana fosters at Brennan's, dinner at Palace Cafe, clubbing, dancing, girl talking, sexy dresses and fierce makeup, and a whole lotta fun.

Gotta finish packing, shower, and sleep before going in to work for a half day. I'm flying out at 2:30pm, so watch out for random text messages from me as I WILL BE STUCK in Vegas for 2 1/2 hours without interwebs. woe.
jemz: (schedule)
It's been a hectic week filled with fun!

Last Thursday I flew to Los Angeles to help out with Anime Los Angeles. Met some awesome people! [livejournal.com profile] hazelchaz, [livejournal.com profile] ala_mokita, Pearl, Patrick, and Evan! Was drinking every night of the weekend with the last three and [livejournal.com profile] seshat! Twas fab! Also managed to get myself some lovely minions by the names of [livejournal.com profile] karinberry, [livejournal.com profile] koneho, and Steve. LOL. Fantastic times. I've never really had minions before but they were so awesome and I love them all. And Kon is absolutely adorable...just like [livejournal.com profile] karinberry had told me! :D I also may have accepted a promotion. STOP LAUGHING. It'll be less stress! Or so I'm told! :D Way less people than Fanime!

Also, [livejournal.com profile] kenaressa is coming back down for Fanime! SO EXCITED!!!!

Then it was back to work and try to do Fanime prep all week for the meeting on Sunday. I flailed over hot, hot Jin pictures and made a date with [livejournal.com profile] nihongofrancais to pick me up from the airport on Sunday.

Because I'm flying down to LA again on Saturday morning for the wrap up meeting for Anime LA. Meetings all day long. Then fly back the next morning in time for Fanime meetings all day long. Yup, a weekend full of meetings! I'm so far behind on being organized! D:

On top of that, I caught a chest cold. I'm mostly over it but am slightly congested and slept a LOT yesterday. About 15 hours worth. Took a small nap today. I'm totally bringing a ton of cough meds and tea with me down south. Or as I told Evan, who also caught a cold, I'm bringing the herbal tea, he's bringing the drugs. XD Am currently blogging while watching [livejournal.com profile] rightsock, [livejournal.com profile] damiri, [livejournal.com profile] yzo, and [livejournal.com profile] rogue_ravnos all play Rock Band 2.

It's all great fun just hanging out and I wish my new friends from So.Cali was up here with me to rock out. Of course, I'll see Steve again on Sunday and tease him horribly....just for Kon. But a weekend of meetings....joy. Anyone up for some sake afterwards?

Edit: [livejournal.com profile] rogue_ravnos is liquoring me up quite nicely! :D I've got an x-rated drink in hand. YUM.
jemz: (HYD - apples)
How did this year pass by so fast?

I'm still a bit boggled by how quickly time passed me by and that it probably all meant that I was too darn busy to notice! I was telling a few friends that I felt that I didn't accomplish very much this year. So I decided to do a Year in Review and to remind myself that I did accomplish a lot!

I combined it with that meme (Take the first sentence (or two) from the first post of each month of 2008. That's your year in review.)

So what did I do? )

I...think I need more sleep. XD
jemz: (Holiday - red xmas treeeeee)
Because I've been super busy and people have been poking me for things that I would want, here's my list. This also works for my birthday, which is a month later.

Step 1. Make a post to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a ______ icon that's just for me.") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD.") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/tv."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your e-mail address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. (Note: home address, not required!)

Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step 2. Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part: If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true.

Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream pure bred basset hound for free -- do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

my xmas list! )

If you need my address, feel free to email me, swtjemz@livejournal.com! :D

And I forgot I was tagged to do the happy things meme, here's my first day! I tag everyone who isn't doing this!

The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag 8 people to do the same.

+ finally posting things up on jehols. I've been waiting for almost a year.
+ shopping for presents for the homeless
+ getting ingredients for my favorite cookies!
+ staying warm when it's raining outside.
+ Koyamamamama
+ wearing pretty eye shadow today.
+ vanilla oolong

Last night, I

~ had a great dinner with fantastic friends
~ teased [livejournal.com profile] karberry's husband. He has a new nickname of "NICKLE KITTY"
~ was sad that Mike and [livejournal.com profile] karberry didn't feel well enough to go out to the Castro.
~ made a face at my phone's dying battery
~ danced my tush off
~ got hit by an ugly man who was nowhere near as good looking with a hook nose as Alan Rickman. And really, a velvet jacket in a club full of hot, gyrating bodies? -_-
~ got super tipsy! 2 double shots of Patron, some horribly strong Cap'n Morgan and Coke, half of something else, a blueberry kamikaze shot with an adorable and flirty bar boy (taken without hands! What? They were in test tubes!)
~ watched some boys shake their tush in jockstraps, touching themselves in many, many different ways.
~ was told that my boobs were asymmetrical. ARE THEY REALLY?!!??! :O
~ umm...forgot my dead cell phone in Kachang's car. Oops. ^_^;;

Now I'm late for something but hey, I just wanted to share how utterly FAIL I am.

Ta ta, lovelies! Back to San Francisco to shop and then party at Asia SF.
jemz: (wave the ass in the air)
I have work at 4am tonight and I can't fall asleeeeeep.

D:

What's your method of falling asleep when you can't?
jemz: (DBSK - pretty Jae)
I just want to crash and curl up in my bed and hide from the world until I get enough sleep.

I'm sure this feeling will go away soon. But until then, I'm totally pulling the covers up and making a fort.
jemz: (DBSK - OT5)
OMG! *____________________________* I am flailing so, so, SO much over them. It's...just....yes. SO MUCH YES. WELCOME BACK TO KOREAN MUSIC, BOYS. :D :D :D:D Not that I don't adore their Japanese music. But if you're gonna come back to your home country with the aim to show that FOUR Daesangs was not a fluke, this is the way to do it.

Konbanwa, minna-san!

Today, I carried around my camera camera1. I didn't know what sort of pictures to take but I took some for my photoblog. They aren't that interesting but I like them.

But then, I forgot to take a picture of my meal!! rice Ah, maybe next time. ^_^;;

I've been playing on the wii fit lately. That is really fun!? I really enjoy the balance games even though my balance is very bad. downarrow I'm always falling over but this will help me improve! punch2 60 minutes a day despite being really busy is very helpful!

Even though I am sore, I feel the strength coming to me thumbsup. Minna-san, let's challenge each other! Competition with friends is always fun!

Now it's time to defeat my brother! ! :D

I think I'm getting better at multi-tasking my life. Just by a little bit.

Photos will come soon! And yes, clare-hai, I'll do that photoblog of my outfits for the week. :-P
jemz: (DBSK - so tired!)
*flops* sleepy

Life has taken a rather hectic turn. Well, more hectic than usual. :-P

phone3 Work has increased and I find myself staying longer and longer or working on Saturdays just to be able to keep up and breathe above water. My coworker is recovering nicely from his heart surgery but I will be most relieved when he is back in the office mid-September. Until then, let's see how well I can balance the increase of work with everything else.

document1 I've taken to writing to do lists lately. And then fail at finishing half of them. Like practicing my hiragana. But I've been working on [livejournal.com profile] karberry & kuya's wedding stuff and the fun joint bridal party invitations are looking cute. I still need to finish more of them and get the addresses to send them off but I am enjoying the theme so far. :D "Sweet & Sour Soiree" is what the party is called. I've got a few recipes to try out!

eyes I had a list of things I wanted to talk about but I forgot. face26

Oh, I remember!

rice I've been eating a lot recently. So many parties and bachelorette parties and meet ups and fooooood!!! But I am being good and started working out again. I started out slow and just walked but I'm hoping that I can keep up and hit the gym every day so I can fit into that dress. I'm also back to that no refined sugar diet I was on last year. I found it helped a lot!

snowman [livejournal.com profile] je_holiday signups are closed and man, I was bouncing in excitement when it closed. 106 people signed up! SO EXCITING. Now, I have to schedule time to work on the assignments with Beth since work has stepped up it's frenzy. Let's hope I don't fall over in exhaustion by the time this week is out.

baseball I'm sad the Olympics are over. But I am looking forward to the Winter Olympics. :D

magnify I started playing more with my makeup after reading [livejournal.com profile] koneho's beauty/makeup posts. I have so much MAC makeup! But my color palette is not very diverse. It's all blues, purples, and greens. Neutral? What's that? ^_^;;

book1 Also, I have a project for next year. I'm going to scrapbook a journal of my travels. Especially since my goal of exploring California next year in lieu of a big overseas trip.

soon I miss having free time. Wandering around Michael's for supplies to make the invitations made me want to pick up my arts&crafts hobbies again.

clock wahhh. I feel like I'm forgetting something and the clock is working against me.

bell I don't know if I want expensive jewelry or another trip more right now. Tiffany's or Carmel?

arrowround I'm also feeling a bit useless. All this time has gone by and what exactly have I accomplished? I should ponder this with over a glass of pinot noir.

The adventures of jemz and mousaPi (ie. the grand adventures in fail)

YAY! We are safely landed in Japan. Not much going on yet but we had a lovely time gabbing with [livejournal.com profile] ilanabean42 and her friend, Meaghan. Then we met up with [livejournal.com profile] alissa at their terminal while I was on the phone with [livejournal.com profile] bloodybrilliant. We passed her around like a h0 (which she totally admits that she likes) and said happy goodbyes to Ilana, Meaghan, and Alissa before heading over to our own terminal.

It was just enough that we didn't have to wait too long before boarding our own flight to Tokyo. It was fun. The flight was long and we tried to sleep. Key word is try. But I have swollen ankles to prove I made it through the pressurized flight and every time I glanced over at mousaPi, she would either do one of the following: wiggle in glee, say whoo hoo, or stare like hamster at me and then looked away. I think her guinea pig has been giving her lessons in staring. :/

"Watch out, jemz. I'm going to be watching you from outside your capsule." states MousaPi who's sitting next to me (reading over my shoulder).

Big words from her. But it's really cute how she's so excited to just be in Japan that it fuels my own excitement! We made it through the immigration, customs, currency exchange, and the ticket counter for the Keisei Skyliner only to be balked at the cell phone counters. I did not want to go to the fourth floor of the mall to slap more money on the pre-paid phone I borrowed. Oh well. Maybe in Akihabara we will find a store and get that handled. :D

Our adventures have started and I'm looking forward to the next 10 days, both of ultimate coolness and utter fail. MousaPi already has a head start. She made some random Japanese man trip over his feet. :D Way to go, Pi.

Anyways, Ryohei-top is out of batteries. More to come when we arrive at the futuristic Capsule Inn in Akihabara. I feel strange things will be occuring tonight.

Okay, so my battery died on the Ryohei-top. But we're at the Capsule Inn now and up on the top floor in the women's lounge trying to get internet on our laptops. Sadly, we are currently failing.

mousaPi wants to say we're alive and I just want to check my email. I miss everyone already and it's pretty warm here. The humidity is like a slap in the face when we walked out of Ueno Keisei station to cross the street to the JR Ueno station. The sky sprinkled fat raindrops on us. It was sprinkling when we arrived at the Capsule Inn as well.

The Capsule Inn is pretty nifty. The capsules aren't as small as I originally thought they were (I get a touch caustrophobic) and they really are pretty cool. Our pods are next to each other and we took dorktastic pictures to me laughing, "Oh hey! It's mousaPI in a POD!"

So now we're just chilling and I am elevating my swollen ankles in a poor attempt to get them to stop being swollen. This happened last yearr too. Sadly, they hurt. D:

Okay, off to see [livejournal.com profile] shimmeredusk and have dinner! Yay!
