[livejournal.com profile] veilsdegto's wedding was at Yamashiro Restaurant in Hollywood, CA. A gorgeous, gorgeous restaurant up on a hill with a really nice view of the LA and the smog. I got to the restaurant a bit late for the rehearsal but it all worked out in the end. :D Plus, driving a convertable 350Z through LA traffic was sorta fun. I was blasting some JE/w-inds./DBSK music with the top down. ;-)

Anyways, here's some pictures of the wedding! Yay for a huge picspam!

Hollywood, here I come! )

Now off to dinner with Fishbot and family!
jemz: (Kanjani8 - TORN)
Next picture post of my Japan 2008 trip!

Ummm, I'll be honest. I am not going to do a write up on the Kanjani8 concert in Fukui until after the wedding on Saturday. a;lskfj;laskf need sleep! But I will write one! I promised someone I would on all three but for now, you get pictures! (Sorry for the HUGE picspam post. It'll take a few moments to load.)

Day 3 - Fukui to Kyoto )

Day 4 was spent entirely in Kyoto going to various temples. mousaPi and Shabz graciously allowed me to tailor the day of sightseeing to the temples I wanted to see. So I wanted to show them Kiyomizudera in the early light because it is beautiful in the calm dawn. Then Heian Jingu, recommended to me by [livejournal.com profile] sandpanther. I wanted to try and hit up Yasaka Jinja if we had time before meeting up with Ilana, [livejournal.com profile] alissa & co and going off to see Kinkakuji and Ryoanji but we weren't able to.

Still, I think Day 4 was one of my favorite days of all on this trip. Despite everyone calling me Leader. Leader janai!

Temples in order visited!

After all the temples, we were tired and hungry. So we headed back to Kyoto Station and decided to eat at one of the restaurants in Porta, the underground mall connected to Kyoto Station. We ended up at a okonomiyake place where we all tried okonomiyake for the first time along with takoyaki. SO GOOD. I didn't take any pictures since, in my hunger, I forgot and just enjoyed the meal. :D

We then shopped for a bit in Porta before parting ways, tired and full of delicious food.

Gah, that took longer than I thought! Sleep time. More pictures to come!
jemz: (Yamapi - MMMM. FOOOD!)
So I've been uploading pictures from Japan and will take it one day at a time, yah? I think I've done some commentary on our first few days before I became tired of writing as we were traveling in high humidity (and really, for a girl who's been living in the dry, dry heat of California, humidity ain't your friend) and we were super spazzy for a lot of the nights.

So without further ado (and I should really try to sleep early and acclimate better), here are pictures of the first day! (sorry, I was too tired lazy to resize the pictures!)

Day 1 - The arrival & Akihabara )

Day 2 - Tsukiji Fish Market, Shin Yokohama, & the Shin Yokohama Ramen Museum )
jemz: (DBSK - so tired!)
Ugh, it's been super busy!!! But I've checked into my hotel (which is only 20 minutes from home), met up with a fellow Fanime staffer, relaxed a bit with a martini and a jazz band in between a few hours of work, and then I came home to finish packing/shower/sleep. :D

Tomorrow, [livejournal.com profile] kenaressa will be here! I pick her up from the airport after work!

Speaking of work, must scamper to bed!

I won't be answering much except when I do have the time from all the madness that is Fanime this weekend. But I'll keep posting my pictures! I treasure all your comments. <3

I had a huge and utterly delicious dinner at Curry House this evening that sapped all my energy to think. So much so that I forgot to take a picture of my dinner. Oops. tomorrow?

Off to bed. I'm up early tomorrow. <3

So, I'm utterly exhausted and have been up for more than...*checks watch* 19 hours or so. I'll write about my weekend sooner or later! But first, have a meme!

mist It was raining super hard on Friday. I was nearly blown sideways with my umbrella. My impression of Mary Poppins is not very smooth. downarrowdownarrowdownarrow

Good thing it stopped raining that hard on Saturday. Managed to be lazy and not get a whole lot done. It feels odd. I felt like I had to be doing something. Is this what Nishikido Ryo was talking about?

leaf My shoulders are aching. [livejournal.com profile] archangelkhaos gave me this fabulous back massage last night. But I think I had all this built up stress in my shoulders that was made a bit worse after stressing all last week. But a hot shower and a cup of tea is on my list for tonight! arrowup

martini [livejournal.com profile] rightsock and [livejournal.com profile] damiri had this really yummy Patron XO Cafe. It's 10 proof less than my favorite Patron Silver but it's OH SO GOOD. I think I want a bottle.

footprint I had a really long day that was just full of meetings. All for Fanime. It was a stressful week and I felt like I am just stumbling around in the dark. But things are slowly coming together. And I will have something to announce soooooon.

onigiri Also had sushi with more Fanime people last night. Tried to relax a bit more. ALL THAT STRESSING for naught! But it was good to talk to the Con Chair about things. Learned a lot more about running a convention.

cake OH. MY QUEST FOR CREAMPUFF-SAN WAS SUCCESSFUL. THIRD TIME WAS A CHARM!

CREAM-PUFF-SAN, YOU LOOK DELICIOUS. )

hotspring So, [livejournal.com profile] je_holiday reveals have gone up (surprise, surprise!) and it was such a great time. If no one couldn't tell, I wrote three fics for this exchange. :D I swear I am so not subtle in my writing. ALTHOUGH, I AM VERY AMUSED AT [livejournal.com profile] lady_gemma FOR THINKING THAT I WROTE THE FIC THAT [livejournal.com profile] mousapelli DID. I AM STILL GIGGLING AT THAT. STILL. hehehehe[livejournal.com profile] jackoweskla, you are such an awesome co-mod. Are we up for it again winter 2008? I THINK WE ARE. *fistbops*

aquarius Birthday party on Jan. 26th is now a GO! w00t! It'll be at my friend Tony's place since we are doing a joint celebration! We are working on a theme! So exciting! :D

crown January is quickly becoming a packed month, full of deadlines, meetings, and fun! I wonder sometimes when I would stop being so busy but it hasn't slowed down in the last 3 years and I don't think it will any time soon.

I AM OVERFLOWING WITH SQUEE AND FLAIL. Thanks to everyone who is FLAILING ALONG WITH ME.

Now, just to make this post completely relevant, I AM DOING AN UCHI PIC SPAM POST. FEEL FREE TO ADD/FLAIL/TELL ME I AM CRAZY/LOVE ME A LOT. But really, after 2 1/2 years of Uchi being non-existent in the JPOP IDOL WORLD, I AM ECSTATIC THAT HE IS BACK. Hopefully, this solo career of his will lead to him REJOINING Kanjani8. Because 8->1.

:D IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER, y0. Sorry, dialup users. Well....not really. I AM TOO FLAILY RIGHT NOW.

THANKS TO ISO, SHABZ, AND ILANA FOR THE PEEKCHURES.

Okay. So I am staring at the end of the tunnel and I see the light on this fic. BUT I NEED INSPIRATION TO GET OVER TO THE END. Thus, I am declaring today as "SEXY JIN SUNDAY."

SPAM ME, PEOPLE, WITH SEXY JIN PICTURES.

It's a continued picspam from last time.

Next stop are Honen-in and Nanzen-ji

clicky! )

I love Japan for the sheer beauty of their temples and shrines. I can see why so many people do these pilgrimages from temple to temple. It's such a spiritual journey that I can't help be affected by it. I definitely want to do a pilgrimage in Japan one day. *_____________*
jemz: (Mike Shinoda)
So I spent a lot of time waiting to be called in for inventory on Saturday ( stupid work. D: ) and I ended up reading Shige's Myojo essays that were translated. I really do like the way he writes and his latest essay talks about "Beauty" and how he went to Kyoto to visit some beautiful temples, two of which I visited on my recent trip to Japan! So with that in mind, this and the next few posts will be a huge picspam. I took a LOT of pictures!

Shige (who is a member of NewS) started his tour with Kiyomizudera. I haven't finished uploading the pictures of that yet but I do have pictures of Ginkakuji (aka The Temple of the Silver Pavilion), his second stop. There are a lot of pictures, so if you're on dial-up, I'm sorry! I love the scenery way too much!

Ginkakuji, the Silver Pavilion )
jemz: (w-inds. - Ryohei - the sky! the sky!)
So I loaded another folder full of pictures. This time, these are taken in front of Sensoji in Asakusa, Tokyo on April 14. I really enjoyed this temple but it was CROWDED. Full of tourists, visitors, worshippers, and a high school band competition (which I failed to get pictures of. Ooops.)

Sensoji and Asakusaji )

Fishbot takes over with his charming smile. )

Umm...also, if anyone has Clazziquai Project songs (more collaborations with other people) that they are willing to give me? *____* I am so love with this group and their music.

I love this song. *___* Must get all their PVs! )

I am determined not to let things get to me this week. Determined.

So I am listing out things that make me happy about each day. And dressing mighty sharp for work. This may or may not include makeup. :D I don't usually wear any makeup to work but I have started wearing more and more eyeliner lately. Plus, my new glasses are pretty enough that I can see any shadow that I put on. And I have so much eye shadow.

Today's list.

Just a few of my favorite things )

OMG. I ALMOST FORGOT.

This picture makes me super happy today! \:D/ )

FANIME 2007 IS OVER.

WHOOOOOO!!!!

Overall, it was certainly a different experience from my first time working Fanime last year. Less of me going "eh? what? huh?" and the "O________O" subaru! eyes and more of the "Oh! I know that!" and "^_______________^" fuji! eyes. I certainly got less sleep this year than last year but that's because I went into Fanime this year considerably more sleep-dep'd and stressed than last year.

There were times where I wanted to strangle people *coughs*crosstraffickingpeople*coughs and others I just wanted to snuggle.

I totally missed on MusicFest guests because I was really too tired to remember where Crack6 and Mechanical Panda were performing. I ended up at the Black and White ball in my pretty black and white frock and danced. Taught the Chair how to Tango. *giggles* There wasn't much the Totoros did this year, unlike last year where they got downright experimental.

I got to meet some of the Guests of Honors and had a lot of fun just catching up with people and seeing how much fun they were having at Fanime this year.

Of course there were some minor, minor gripes but whatever! A good time was had by all and that's the most important part, right?

So last night, I crashed so hard. I got a little over 12 hours of sleep. I am feeling much better and in a better frame of mind to tackle all the problems that have been piling up at work. Apologies to those who are waiting for me to finish up some of my special projects! I promise they'll be out to you sooooooooon!

Another few pics from Fanime 2007! )

And I am going back to re-read why my HP flist is exploding and am waiting to see how fast it's going to hit my JPop part. Because if LJ/6A is going after one of the biggest fandoms on LJ, who knows how soon it's going to come after the smaller ones.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO [livejournal.com profile] akahannah! I hope Kaji appears in front of you again soon!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO [livejournal.com profile] marksykins!!! I missed out on writing something but I hope you had a wonderful birthday!
jemz: (DBSK - Yunho blowing feathers)
So here is the next part of the picspam for Japan 2007! This time, it's my Harajuku folder!

[livejournal.com profile] lady_gemma, [livejournal.com profile] kenaressa, [livejournal.com profile] shinigamitabris, and I had a late morning it was so nice to sleep in! before getting ready to head over to Harajuku in the afternoon. We went on a Saturday (omg, w-inds. fc event the night before was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING.) afternoon after getting gussied up with the makeup and such. [livejournal.com profile] kenaressa had made beautiful black feathered wings and we strapped them on her when we got to Yoyogi Park (next to the Harajuku JR station!).

Then we went into Harajuku after a few hours of watching [livejournal.com profile] kenaressa posing, taking pics of other cosplayers, enjoying akame boy the guitarist of the band that was playing on the street. We also found ネロウメロウ there where wifey and I fell in love with their music. :D

So enough of the babble and onto the pictures. After all, that's what you want from me, right?

A subculture in a kaleidoscope of fashion/Prowl the streets of Harajuku )

Sorry to dial-up users! well, not really. :D

*waves a sleepy hello*

I'm staring blearily about me and decided to wake EVERYONE ELSE UP with this picture.

ENJOY.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! *hip thrusts* )
jemz: (roses & Vietnam)
So I realized, while sitting busy at work and tapping away at stupid documentation, that I didn't share any pics from my Japan trip but I have SO MANY PICTURES that I will need to do them in a lot of little chunks say hi to nearly 3gb of pics!. As I make an effort to avoid doing work on my break, here are the pretty sakura on the Philosopher's Walk in Kyoto.

[livejournal.com profile] shinigamitabris, [livejournal.com profile] lady_gemma, and I wandered about Ginkakuji (the Silver Pavilion) before doing the Philosopher's Walk. We ended the Philosopher's Walk with a tour of Nanzen-ji. It was a really beautiful walk and the side trip to Honen-in Temple was absolutely fabulous and serene. Definately one of my favorite places to see in Kyoto other than Kiyomizu-dera.

Apologies to all dial-up users. The pics are sort of big and I don't want to use any thumbnails. XD

the sea of pink blossoms overwhelm me. But I like the blue sky through them. )

Definately one of my fondest memories of Japan. Including the insane amount of walking done.
jemz: (solitude)
